In the summer of 2007, Chiquita Board invited a group of women to join her on a journey that would change our lives.  A diverse group of women living in separate regions and coming from different generations with varying backgrounds and viewpoints came together to create a collaborative work that expressed strength, peace and power through words.  Though we know how unique and special our differences are, it is our commonality of heritage, culture and history which eminently binds us as sisters.

Each of us understood that everything we had experienced, thought, felt was done in divine order; regardless of how hard, painful, or misguided – our journey was part of the universal flow that helped us discover who we are.  Each one of us had something interesting to say and more importantly, beautiful to share.

IACBIR is a glorious collaboration of experiences and struggles with growing up, marriage, giving birth, divorce and a host of other life events fluently woven together through our individual stories which depict treasured moments of acceptance, love, loss, and hope. We pray that these tales will touch, motivate, entertain and inspire others.
